What is an apostille?

An apostille is a specialized certificate that authenticated the signature and seal of a public official or notary public that appears on a document or vital record. This legalizes the document for use in a country outside of the United States.

Apostille are solely for international use. These certificates cannot be used in the country in which they are issued.

What are common documents that require an apostille certificate?

Can a document issued by another State receive an apostille in Nevada?

Apostille certificates can only be issued by the State that issued the document, or the State in which the document was notarized. If your document was issued by a State other than Nevada, it must be apostilled by that State.

We are experts in the apostille filing processes of each State. As such, we provide apostille service for all 50 U.S. States and Federal documents. Meet with a member of our team to discuss the options for having your document apostilled.

How long does the apostille process take?

This depends upon the State from which the document will receive the apostille certificate and the type of processing selected. Completion times can range from 2-3 business days to 12 weeks.* A team member can provide you with more detailed information based on the type of document requiring an apostille.

While Nevada documents can be processed quicker due to the availability of expedited services, most other States do not have expedited service available. Federal documents can take 11-20 weeks to complete.

What do I need to bring with me to have a document notarized?

When meeting with a notary public in our office you will need the following to have your document notarized: a valid government issued photo I.D. (must present physical card, photos not accepted) and the document(s) to be notarized.

What type of identification is needed to have a document notarized?

Do all signers of a document have to be present to notarize a document?

How much does it cost to have a document notarized?

The fees for notary service are as follows; $15 for the first notarized signature, $7 for a second, and $6 for each additional signature notarized after the first 2 as part of the same transaction.

Notary fees are calculated by the number of signer signatures requiring notarization. Not the number of notary public signatures applied to a document. Our fee structure for notarization falls within what the Nevada Secretary of State's office allows. The Secretary of State does not allow fees to be charged per document.

My document is written in a language other than English, can it be notarized?

Can my birth certificate be notarized?

Notaries public are prohibited by Nevada State law from certifying copies of vital records. We cannot notarize or certify a copy of any vital record such as a birth certificate, death certificate, or marriage certificate. These documents are certified by the issuing office or agency.

When ordering a new copy of a vital record you may be asked to have a sworn statement or affidavit notarized for the order. We can notarize this document as part of your order. Please be sure to bring valid, government issued photo identification when meeting with a notary public to sign this document.

Can you certify a copy of my marriage certificate?

As notaries public we cannot certify copies of any vital record, court document, document transferring real property, or Nevada business entity filings. These documents can only be certified by the issuing agency or office.

We can assist with obtaining certified copies of some Nevada documents. Some of these include Nevada marriage certificates, court documents, divorce decrees, Nevada business entity filings, and real estate documents on file with the Clark County Recorder. Is there parking available?

Parking in the immediate area of owned and managed by the City of Las Vegas. While there is a fee for parking, there is a city parking garage attached to the building in which we are located. This parking garage can be accessed via 3rd and 4th Streets. Alternatively, there is street parking available in the vicinity.

Do you have a physical location I can visit?

You can visit us in person at our office. Our office is located in Downtown Las Vegas at the corner of 4th Street and Lewis Ave. We are on the fifth floor of the City Centre Building in suite 500. This building is one block east of the Regional Justice Center and just west of the Historic Fifth Street School. The physical address is listed below;
